Lauren Stegmiller - Owner/Dance Instructor

Raised in Texas, Lauren has been dancing since age 4.  She participated in competition classes of jazz, tap, lyrical and ballet at her dance studio in Plano, Texas until the age of 17.  She continued her passion for dance in college and danced on the Iowa State Pom Squad for two years, leading her team as a Captain during her second year.  Living in the Quad Cities after college, she then performed as a deckmate for the Quad City Steam Wheelers.  She opened her own studio, The Turning Pointe, in 2008 and loves teaching dance technique in the area.


MattKrause

Matt Krause - Tumbling Instructor

Matt began tumbling at the age of 10.  After just two years he began spotting tumbling and coached at the Kewanee, IL YMCA.  He took a break from tumbling when he joined the Navy for ten years.  He then gained more experience coaching tumbling at Kim's Dance Studio as well as in Muscatine, IA.  He coached for a competitive cheer team in Muscatine for four years and helped coach the Rockridge Cheer squad for four years as his daughter was on the squad.  Now he works with our tumblers here at The Turning Pointe!


Holley

Holley Blaser - Dance Instructor

Born and raised in the Quad Cities, Holley's passion for dance started at age three.  She studied jazz, tap, tumbling and lyrical dance through her elementary years.  While competing in junior high school athletics, Holley directed her remaining energy toward competitive all-star cheerleading.  At age 18, after five years of competing on the cheerleading squad, she took over as head coach - a position she held for the next seven years.  While coaching, Holley attended Western Illinois University and graduated in 2009 with a B.A. in Exercise Science and minor degrees in Nutrition and Dance.  She continued her education at WIU and earned a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology in 2011.  Holley is married to her high school sweetheart, Tyson, and enjoys the journey that his career within the New York Yankees Organization takes them.  At The Turning Pointe, Holley currently teaches ballet, tap, jazz, and tumbling and hopes to teach a few fitness classes in the near future.


Dana

Dana Fuhr - Tumbling Instructor

Raised near Nashua, IA, Dana's love for tumbling started at an early age turning cartwheels wherever she could.  She started competitive tumbling at age 5 and competed for Plum Creek Tumbling in Waverly, IA.  She competed on Floor, Double-Mini Trampoline and Trampoline.  Her proudest achievement was becoming a National Champion in the advanced level.  Dana coached through her college years for Ames Park and Recreation, Cardinal Tumbling and Trampoline, and The Power Zone.  Dana took a break from coaching to pursue her marketing career at John Deere, but has now returned to the gym and loves working with kids again.  Dana has joined the staff at The Turning Pointe as a tumbling instructor and looks forward to helping grow the interest for tumbling in the community.


Angela Kendall - Dance Instructor

Angela graduated Cum Laude from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor's Degree in Performing Arts in 1997.  While in college she traveled during the summers doing musical theatre and has performed in productions such as The King and I, Big River, West Side Story, and A Midsummer Night's Dream.  She also was awarded The Jeffrey Mildenstein Scholarship for outstanding achievement in dance.  After graduation she taught ballet, tap, and jazz at Studio 109 in Crown Pointe, IN.  Angela has performed in countless Nutcrackers with companies such as Cassandra Manning Ballet Theatre, Indiana Ballet Theatre and Ballet Quad Cities.  In 2001, she decided to move closer to her family in the Quad Cities and began teaching at Ballet Quad Cities.  After many years of teaching both children and adults, she took a break from dance to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse.  Now that she has established her nursing career, she is returning to her love of dance.
